WebLOS is a DOS text based world wide web browser specifically made for blind and partially sighted.
Around Christmas 1995 I realized it would be very nice to have a DOS text based browser. I started to do a bit of programming and after a while I figured out that this could maybe be used for something useful. Other people I talked to agreed and the motivation was there to make WebLOS.
But WebLOS is not like any ordinary browser. It is completely without graphics! One of the main reasons for this is that WebLOS is made for blind and partially sighted who use extra equipment like screen enlargers, synthesized speech and braille displays. Programs with a graphical user interface are difficult to express in speech or braille and this is often an obsticle for using programs with such an interface.
